The focus is on teaching young equestrians proper and safe riding techniques and care for horses and equipment. Advanced students will further their riding skills that will prepare them to achieve their goals. Each day, weather permitting, there will be lessons on horseback and off horseback. In the afternoon they have trial rides or mounted games. Through the week they meet new freinds, improve their riding skills, and have alot of fun!
Great opportunities are in store for those advanced campers who are accepted! Individual instruction, guest professionals, show and cross country training. This year we have 2 ponies showing at A rated shows in the breeding divisions and 2 to be broken. These campers will be learning from all these rare opportunities. In addition they will be trained in course designing, horse show management and produce our Tuesday Evening Horse Show. Hunter show judge, Jeff Bradner, will be teaching a clinic on show jumping and give tips on a judge's point of view. Learn ways to communicate and ride your horse in a way you've never experienced with Dressage trainer/rider, Nancy Olsen's clinic.
Braehead Farm is located just off the Blue-Grey Highway in Fredericksburg. This is an old dairy farm with a new equestrian venue. Braehead offers the same summer program with instructor, Beth Linton. This is a new facility that incorporates a nostalgic dairy barn with all the new amenities of an equestrian center.
